What is Mobile Notary?

A mobile notary is a notary public commissioned by the state to perform notarizations on documents. Mobile notaries travel to you for signings. They can meet you at your home, office, coffee shop, or library.
Mobile notaries can perform any notarial service prescribed by their state’s laws. However, mobile notaries commonly perform services for real estate or mortgage transactions.
Usually, you must make an appointment and wait to meet a mobile notary at a specified time and location. Fees are typically much higher as you must pay for their travel time and expenses.
Documents that mobile notaries might notarize include wills and trusts, car titles, and home loan documents.
